Reasons to Recycle While Living in Our Wildwood, Florida Apartments

Most people know that recycling helps the Earth by reducing waste, keeping landfills clear, and eliminating the pollutants that are released into the air when garbage is burned. But although our country has made great strides in our efforts to recycle over the last several decades, we still have a long way to go. Did you know that the United States alone generates about 230 million tons of trash each year? That’s nearly five pounds of trash per person, per day!

It’s easy to reduce the amount of trash you produce, especially if you follow the three R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – while you’re living in our Wildwood, Florida, apartments:

  • Reduce – Try to buy products that don’t have as much packaging. It’s also a good idea to buy refills for certain products instead of simply buying the product again, like for lotions, hand soaps, dish detergent, etc.
  • Reuse – Avoid buying disposable products. For instance, use a reusable water pitcher or water filter instead of buying individual bottles of water. Try not to use paper plates, plastic utensils, or disposable cups. Also, before throwing a durable product away – examples include clothing, books, appliances, and electronics – think about whether or not it’s in good enough condition to be donated to charity.
  • Recycle – Recycle whenever possible, and try to buy products that can easily be recycled. For instance, avoid Styrofoam, packing materials, and PVC (polyvinyl chloride).

Of course, aside from preserving the Earth, there are other benefits to recycling. Reducing the amount of trash you produce also helps keep your luxurious PepperTree apartment free of clutter.
