Sweet ‘n’ Salty – Crazy Rice Recipe
Anyone looking for a simple, filling, and flavorful recipe will want to try their hand at making crazy rice. Not only are the ingredients fairly simple, but all it really requires is knowing how to cook rice – making it an excellent recipe for those who are still learning how to master the art of cooking. Plus, with its salty and sweet flavor, crazy rice isn’t just easy to make, it’s delicious to eat, too. Here is the recipe, which serves about four people:
- Using vegetable, chicken, or another preferred broth, cook one cup of white rice in a pot and one cup of wild rice in another. (It’s important to cook the rice in different pots because white rice and wild rice require different cooking times, with the latter typically taking twice as long to cook.)
- Chop up a ½ cup of cashews, a ½ cup of green onions, and a ½ cup of dried apricots.
- Sautee green onions, cashews, and apricots in a large pot with 3 tablespoons of butter. Once sautéed, mix with the wild and white rice.
- Add any seasonings you may want, such as garlic, oregano, salt, or pepper.
