- Eliminate lights and clocks – Even the smallest amount of light can interfere with your sleep because it can stimulate the brain. Turn off all the lights in your room, and if there are still some lights seeping in from the outside, consider wearing an eye mask. It is also a good idea to keep any clocks out of sight as seeing the time tick by can lead to anxiety, which will then make it more difficult for your brain to relax and fall asleep.
- Try aromatherapy – Aromatherapy can produce a soothing and calming effect on your body. Find a scent that you like and let it fill your bedroom as you drift off to sleep.
