In November of 2007, amazon.com released a product called the Kindle that launched a revolution. This product is what is known as an e-reader, and it allows books to be purchased and read digitally. Since then, companies like Apple, Barnes & Noble, and Sony have released their very own e-readers, and experienced a great deal of success with them. These devices became so popular because they are slim, have vast storage capacity, and are easy to travel with. E-readers aren’t made just for traveling purposes, though. A quiet afternoon or weekend morning at our apartments in Wildwood, Florida makes the perfect time and place to pull out an e-reader and engross yourself in a fascinating book.

To read digitally from an e-reader, you’ll need to:

• Purchase an e-reader. You can find them in electronics stores, bookstores, and online.

• Use your e-reader to purchase a book, periodical, or newspaper subscription. You’ll find that many e-books are cheaper than actual books. Purchasing books from the e-bookstore is simple and you should find it to be quite intuitive.

• Download the book after purchasing it. This should take no longer than a few minutes and the device should explain how to do it.

• Start reading, and remember to keep the battery charged.
