Keeping Hydrated in Our Apartments Near The Villages
Especially during the sweltering summer months in Florida, keeping yourself hydrated can be difficult. Despite the often overwhelming heat, there is a lot to do outside in the Sunshine State, from going to the beach to visiting the park with friends. Proper hydration is critical if you plan to be outside, so we’ve compiled a list of helpful tips to help our residents avoid dehydration and other heat-related health issues.
Take these simple steps to stay better hydrated at our apartments near The Villages:
- Drink plenty of water – It is recommended that you drink 64 ounces, or about eight glasses, of water or other liquids a day.
- Eat foods with high water content – Your body can also hydrate itself from foods high in water content, such as fruits and vegetables. Citrus fruits, cantaloupes, and watermelons are all excellent sources of water.
- Use the shade – It is important either to stay or take periodic breaks in the shade, as direct sunlight and the heat it brings will often cause you to dehydrate faster.
- Hydrate before you sleep – Your body uses water while you sleep, so drinking one or two glasses of water before you fall asleep will not only help you stay hydrated through the night, but the water your body retains will make it easier for you to stay hydrated the following day.
